Delete an article
Remove articles from the catalogue – how marking for deletion works and why articles with stock are kept.
You delete an article from the article overview. Deleting happens in two stages: first you mark the article for deletion, then X-Sitter removes it automatically shortly afterwards. Articles that still have stock in the warehouse are never deleted.
Before you start
- Your user needs the permission to delete articles. Without it, there is no bin button – ask your administrator.
- The article must have no stock left in any warehouse. Check this in the Stock column of the overview or in the Stock overview.
Step by step
- Go to Catalogue › Overview (Katalog › Übersicht) and search for the article.
- Click the red bin in the article row.
- Confirm the question "Should this article really be deleted?" (Soll dieser Artikel wirklich gelöscht werden?).
- You see "The article has been marked for deletion and will be removed shortly" (Der Artikel wurde zum löschen vorgemerkt und wird in Kürze entfernt).
The article now shows the badge will be deleted (wird gelöscht) in the list. The edit and delete buttons disappear for this article.
What happens next
- X-Sitter removes marked articles automatically in the background, a few at a time. Their links to marketplaces are removed as well.
- If an article still has stock at that moment, it is kept.
- Once an article is gone, it disappears from the overview of all users.
Deleting cannot be undone. All attribute values, images and mappings of the article are removed with it.
