Basic settings

Personal settings for the article form and for the voice prompts during picking.

The basic settings are your personal preferences. They only apply to your own user:

  • whether the attribute groups are expanded when you edit an article, and
  • which language and voice X-Sitter uses for the voice prompts during picking.

Before you start

  • You are logged in. No extra permission is needed for the page itself.
  • The section Voice prompts (picking) (Sprachansagen (Kommissionierung)) is only shown if you have access to the warehouse (WMS).

Step by step

  1. Click your name in the top right corner, then Settings (Einstellungen).
  2. Choose Basic Settings (Grund - Einstellungen) in the menu on the left.
  3. Under Expand attributes? (Attribute aufklappen?) choose Yes (Ja) or No (Nein).
  4. If you pick in the warehouse: under Voice prompts (picking) choose the Language (Sprache) and the Voice (Stimme).
  5. Optional: check the voice. Enter any text in Test output (Testausgabe) and click Speak (Sprechen).
  6. Click Save (Speichern). X-Sitter confirms with All values have been saved (Alle Werte wurden gespeichert).

Fields and options

Field Meaning
Expand attributes? (Attribute aufklappen?) Yes: when you open an article, all attribute groups are expanded. No (default): the groups are collapsed and you open them as needed. See Edit an article.
Language (Sprache) Language of the voice prompts during picking, e.g. de-DE or en-GB.
Voice (Stimme) Voice used for the prompts. The list shows all voices of the selected language that your browser or device offers, marked as female, male or neutral.
Test output (Testausgabe) Sample text to try out the selected voice with Speak. It is not saved.

Good to know / Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Solution
The voice lists are empty The browser does not offer speech output or has not loaded its voices yet. Reload the page. Use a current Chrome or Edge browser.
The picking process still uses the old voice The voice prompt setting is read when you log in. Log out and log in again.
The section Voice prompts (picking) is missing Your user has no access to the warehouse. Ask your administrator if you need it.
