Cycle count during picking
The cycle count (Zwischen-Inventur, shown in English as Interim Inventory) is a spot check right in the picking process. If only a few pieces should be left on a location after a pick, X-Sitter asks the picker how many articles are really there and corrects the stock immediately. Every count is logged.
To count whole rows of your warehouse with a decision on every discrepancy, use the physical inventory instead.
Before you start
- Your user needs the permission for Order picking (Kommisionierung).
- A picklist is being picked, see Picking.
Step by step
- Pick an article as usual.
- If, according to X-Sitter, 1 to 9 pieces are left on the location and no replenishment is possible any more, the dialog Interim Inventory (Zwischen-Inventur) opens. It asks how many articles are really on the location.
- The dialog shows every batch of the article on this location separately, with batch and best-before date if available. Locked goods (QS lock, best-before block) are marked in red. If there are several batches, X-Sitter asks you to count each batch separately. Each field is prefilled with the system stock of the batch.
- Enter the counted quantity per batch and click Save (Speichern). X-Sitter confirms with "Inventory saved" (Inventur gespeichert).
- If the new stock is not enough for the quantity you still need, X-Sitter tells you: "The new stock (…) is not sufficient for the required quantity (…)."
Short pick
If you report a short pick (Minderentnahme) while picking, X-Sitter also logs a count. Depending on the situation, it corrects the stock, triggers a replenishment, or closes the item with the smaller quantity. See Picking.
How the stock is corrected
X-Sitter books per batch (batch + best-before date + lock). One batch is never offset against the count of another. Locked pallets on the location stay untouched if only the free goods differ.
Every corrected batch gets an entry in the article history with batch, best-before date and the note that the stock was corrected by the cycle count (with "(gesperrter Bestand)" for locked goods). The available stock is recalculated, see Stock overview.
